Chris Webby - White Noise / Teenage Mutant Ninja Rapper

After Eminem entering the rap circle in the early 90's, many were waiting to see a successor who could have a similar impact on the rap game that Eminem had. Some white rappers such as Asher Roth and Terminology entered the rap game with legitimate attempts at being something new and something different. A breathe of fresh air has finally emerged, Chris Webby. The unsigned white rapper, has edgy songs, spanning issues about his childhood, college, girls and even influences with drugs and alcohol. These songs are filled with catchy beats, clever metaphors, and a curious amount of nostalgic names in which people can relate to. As we sampled his first mixtape, "The White Noise LP" we honestly didn't expect much. Fortunately, we were wrong.

Chris Webby, comes off as a lyrical assassin that strives on punchlines, desire and an ambition to develop as an artist. He touches on controversial issues, such as Marijuana in his song "La La La" which samples beats from an early 90's hit, "ATC - All Around the world." Other standout tracks were songs such as "A.D.D." which touched on the topic of Attention Deficient Disorder in a comical and amusing way while, "Wake Up (featuring Knowledge)," shows a slower more personal side of his artistic ability. Chris Webby has just released a follow up mixtape to "The White Noise LP" titled, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Rapper." If you haven't already clicked the above links, be sure to head over to "datpiff" to check out these two free downloads and pump some Webby through your own speakers. We're looking forward to a future release from Webby, hoping he focuses more on developing the depth of lyrics, and production quality and the mastering of his tracks. Check it out, and let us know what you think!
