Hailing from Blooomington, Minnesota, 22 year old Dylan Smith has been shaking up with Midwest under his hip-hop alias "MOD SUN." His first LP titled "I'll Buy Myself" features 11 songs, all of which were original beats made by MOD SUN himself. The songs were written and recorded over a eight month span in 2008. Each track was independently recorded and produced by Mod Sun. A self accomplishment in itself, Mod Sun has been going through his daily grind, mixing and making more music then ever before. We have been privileged to sample some of his latest work, supplying our readers with two of his latest mixtapes, "Let Ya Teeth Show" & "How To Make A MOD SUN." (download links below)

MOD SUN has released his
first mixtape titled "Let Ya Teeth Show" in July 2009. It features 11 solid new songs, including the heavily loved track "No Girlfriend." The project features so called 'party-anthems,' 'dreams-come-true,' 'get high' tracks and really encompasses what MOD SUN is all about. Since then, MOD SUN has learned from experience and developed as an artist, pushing forth his latest project, "How To Make A MOD SUN" which includes 17 new songs and remixes. The latest mixtape samples beats from Miley Cyrus' "Party in the USA," Alicia Keys' "It Doesn't Mean Anything," Keri Hilsons' "Knock Me Down," and Owl City's' hit single, "Fireflies."
